A glimpse into my recent poetic reflections.

Oh, Little Firefly

Soon the yellow sun

rubs his sleepy eyes,

stepping down from his throne in the sky.

Love's Symphony

Love pauses for a moment.

The silence echoes -

filling spaces that the symphony just created.

My Journey

My journey with poetry began in a classroom. It was unexpected, unplanned and definitely not something that should have been happening while a lesson was in progress. Yet that is exactly how it unfolded and no one disturbed me. I found myself writing in complete peace, as though wrapped in a quiet bubble as I wrote my first poem titled 'Do You Know What the Lord Has Done for You'. Sadly, that poem disappeared and I never found it.

Over time, poetry became my refuge - a place where I could pour my true emotions on paper while presenting a composed exterior to the world. It became my way of coping with life, its hurts and its pains - an escape from reality. Later, it took a backseat as I began writing lyrics and found Christ. I would write occasionally but it was no longer at the forefront.

In 2025, I realized I could no longer sit on the gift God had given me. Looking back, I understood that the way poetry entered my life - the ease, the timing, the peace - could not be a coincidence. I believe God was guiding me even then because nothing happens by accident.

Today, poetry has become a passion - one that allows me to shape images and emotions into words. I thank God for this gift and the opportunity to use it with purpose.

Roots

Early Inspirations

Life experiences and emotional moments have shaped much of my poetry. While deeply rooted in personal journeys, nature has also played a role, influencing the imagery and the tone woven throughout some of my work.

Current Work

My current poetry is inspired by my relationship with the Lord and the journey I am on today, as will be seen in my forthcoming chapbook, 'Behind the Mask'. Alongside these reflective pieces are moments of playful creativity - poems written simply for the joy of expression. Though emotions remains a constant thread, it has transformed greatly from where it began, reflecting growth, healing, and faith. It is an honour to share this poetic journey with you.
